iPhoto Slideshow - Principles & Elements Assignment
Now that you are a photography expert, you will show the class your skills. Create an iPhoto slide show of your 12 elements & principles of design. Use text to label each element & principle. Be sure to have a title slide and use a theme for your show. When you are finished with your show, create a new blog post and talk about your favorite photos and why you like them. Your homework for the weekend will be to watch 5 of your classmates shows and make one comment on a photo that they took.

Had tons of super fun learning about the principles and elements of design. I am really enjoying using my digital camera and learning lots about it. I used iPhoto to create this picture slideshow. It was really simple to use and took me just minutes to create!

Time for You To Become the Teacher
Today I showed you a wonderful online photo editing tool that can be used when you don't have access to Photoshop but still want similar tools and options. I am a big advocate of using Freeware as most of us would agree why pay for it when you can find it online for FREE! Not only did I show you the tool but I also explained how to use it and gave you a short demonstration. Here is your next assignment.
You need to go into the Chrome Web Store and find an app or extension that works well for you (sorry, no games allowed). You have time today to browse through the categories and search for a tool that makes your life easier or allows you to create/design something you love to do. Once you have selected your app or extension you will need to tell me what you selected so that we do not have people choosing the same app/extension. Then you will prepare and then give the class a short demonstration on:

Very similar to Photoshop but it's FREE! |
- Why you selected it?
- What are some of it's best features.
- What doesn't it have or what doesn't work so well.
- Any additional information...
You will present your demonstration on Friday to the whole class. You must bring your laptop as you will be using this app/extension on your laptop and be able to plug into the projector. Be prepared to answer at least two or three questions. I would highly recommend writing down your steps so you don't get into the front of the room and suddenly forget what you were going to say. You will be graded on how well you demonstrate your app/extension and answering the above questions. Some suggestions for presenting:
- Make eye contact with people or try and get them involved.
- Ask questions to see if your audience understands what your are saying.
- Speak slowly and loud, we cannot learn anything if we cannot hear you.
- Remember everyone is just as afraid as you are to stand in front of the group...relax we won't bite! Have fun.
If anyone would like to go first...second...third, just let me know, otherwise it will be a random order so be prepared to present at any time. As an audience member take notes and be prepared to blog about what you found interesting and be able to reflect about your experience as a presenter.

Housekeeping
Today I want you to do several things:
- Take time to look through your fellow classmates blogs. Have they done something that you don't know how to do? Is there a theme that you would prefer?
- Take a moment to edit your About You video post...give a quick sentence or two about this post is all about.
- Create a new blog post and write a tech review of Animoto.
- I want this post to have pics and a link to the website.
- Remember to be creative with your title.
- You post must be very detailed and use technical writing. Many of you just wrote the bare minimum you need to have three to four paragraphs. There is a lot to discuss.
- Make sure you have the following blog posts completed:
- Tech Review of WeVideo
- Animoto Video About You (plus a few details)
- Tech Review of Animoto
- Update Blogger Info
